Reminder — task manager, notes, birthdays & cloud backup
Version 1 · Last updated July 4, 2026This policy explains what data Reminder collects, why, and how it's used. Reminder is built to work fully offline — your reminders, notes and birthdays are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly turn on cloud backup.
Reminders, notes, birthdays, groups, places and Google Tasks you add are stored in a local database on your device. This data is never sent to our servers.
If you attach a photo to a note, the image is stored locally alongside the note.
If you turn on Google Drive or Dropbox backup, your reminders, notes and settings are uploaded to a private folder in your own Google Drive or Dropbox account — not to a server we operate. We only request the minimum access scope needed to create, read and update files created by the app.
Signing in with a Google account is also used to read and write your Google Tasks lists if you enable that integration.
You can revoke this access at any time from your Google or Dropbox account settings, which stops all further access immediately.
Every permission below is requested only for the feature it powers, and most are optional — the app works without granting them, just with that feature turned off.

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand feature usage and diagnose crashes, and Firebase Remote Config to deliver configuration such as this policy's current version without an app update. These send standard device/usage diagnostics (not your reminders or notes content) to Google.
If you submit feedback or a bug report through the in-app troubleshooting screen, a device log file may be uploaded to help us diagnose the issue. This only happens when you choose to send it.
The free version of Reminder shows ads served through Google AdMob, which may use an advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. The Pro version contains no ads and no AdMob SDK.
Local data is deleted when you delete an item in the app or uninstall the app. Cloud backups live in your own Google Drive or Dropbox account and are deleted the same way you'd delete any file there. To remove diagnostic data associated with your device, contact us using the details below.
Reminder is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Since almost all app data stays on your device, most of these rights are exercised directly in the app (edit or delete an item) or in your Google/Dropbox account settings for backup data.
When this policy changes, we publish a new version at this same URL and update the version badge above. The app checks periodically for a new version so it can prompt you to review material changes.
